Implementing a "housing first" model, Supportive Services for Veteran Families is a homeless prevention program that assists veterans and their families facing homelessness or at risk of it. The program prioritizes housing stability, offering eligible veterans financial aid for rental and utility security deposits, as well as initial rental payments. Additional support services include assistance with transportation, child care, linkage to medical care, behavioral healthcare, and recovery services for veterans experiencing PTSD and other combat-related effects. The program aims to help veterans and their families re-establish financial stability and achieve self-sufficiency.

Additionally, all participants must partake in a mandatory savings program.

Assistance is subject to the availability of funds, and does NOT include security deposits or first month's rent. The branch does not assist with once in a state of foreclosure or if eviction notices have been served. The initiative is intended as a program for self-sufficiency and means out of poverty.
