New Jersey Association of Guide Dog Users | National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey

Empowering its members, the New Jersey Association of Guide Dog Users educates the community about guide dog user issues, advocates for their rights, promotes awareness of blind individuals' capabilities and needs, and enhances the general well-being of the blind in New Jersey and nationwide. Additionally, it conducts quarterly meetings via conference call throughout the year.

Service Dogs Program | Dogs for Better Lives

Trains hearing dogs to assist individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, children with autism spectrum disorder, physicians, teachers, and counselors. Hearing dogs are trained from four to six months and delivered at no cost. Dogs are conditioned to respond to a variety of sounds, including: alarm clocks, crying infants, doorbells, kitchen appliances, the owner's name, and smoke/fire alarms.

Provides a 2-week training program that matches individuals who are visually impaired with trained guide dogs. Also provides transportation.

NEADS World Class Service Dogs | National Education of Assistance Dog Services (NEADS)

Trains dogs specifically according to the accommodations needed by those with disabilities. Service dogs can be trained in assisting a wide variety of people with disability including but not limited to those with hearing loss/deafness, adults and children with physical disabilities, veterans, and children with autism.

Seeing Eye | Seeing Eye, The

Offers breeding and training of seeing eye dogs and instruction to blind persons in the use of seeing eye dogs. Provides follow-up services for graduates. Has public education program, including films and speakers by special request.

Freedom Program | Variety The Children's Charity of United States

Provides grants to children with disabilities who are in need of medical equipment and services. Grants are delivered to both individual children and children's organizations. The program can covers manual/powered wheelchairs, adaptive bicycles and trikes, assistance animals, hoists and lifts, modified vehicle access, standing and walking assistance.

America's VetDogs Assistance Program | Guide Dog Foundation For The Blind

Provides veterans, active duty service members, and first responders with disabilities trained guide and service dogs. Specialized programs are offered for those with hearing loss, seizure response, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
