People First is a group advocacy network where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities come together to learn how to advocate for themselves, while providing a collective voice for advancing disability rights.

Assist to Improving justice outcomes for youth in New Jersey by advocating family and youth involvement, ending harmful practices, and reducing recidivism through leadership training, legal support, peer programs, awareness campaigns, professional training, and comprehensive data analysis.

Assists parents and caregivers raising children, ages birth through 21, who face emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Advocates for collaboration with agencies like DCP&P, DDD, Juvenile Justice, etc. Offers peer support, education, advocacy, mediation training, accompaniment to court appointments, IEPs, etc. Extends the services of the county Family Support Organization and provides information and referrals for healthcare professionals, special education schools, legislators, and substance abuse programs.

SASS (Self Assurance Self Sufficiency) helps families develop a sense of security and higher level of self assurance. Through SASS, individuals learn the power of advocating for themselves. SASS encourages stronger families and healthier communities. SASS counselors provide support to families and teach the ways to: - Manage household tasks - Strengthen positive parenting skills - Seek affordable medical care - Link to community resources - Manage personal finances - Link to housing resources - Advocate for themselves - Improve organizational skills

Provides support and self-help groups for noncustodial parents and their families, aiming to maintain active involvement in their children's lives. Offers education on rights, responsibilities, and self-representation in court. Expertise includes divorce, child custody, parenting time, financial support, financial planning, parental alienation, paternity fraud, false allegations of child abuse, false allegations of domestic abuse, and services for male victims of domestic violence.

Provides support services to the families of the mentally ill through a network of social, community and group gatherings. IFSS services include educational presentations, one-on-one counseling and intervention, advocacy, various workshops, information (housing, employment, relapse, crisis intervention), as well as respite care to lighten the load for families caring for mentally ill loved ones.

Provides food pantry, counseling legal services, and free vita program. Designed to help various underprivileged groups. The programs are designed to address and alleviate the many issues of poverty and disenfranchisement that control the lives of vulnerable populations: the poor, underprivileged, immigrants, women, children, and senior citizens.

Encourage young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to take an active role in their communities and assert themselves on important issues through the Youth Leadership Project. The program includes 8 two-hour training sessions where participants learn life skills and self-advocacy. Sessions cover topics such as voting, public speaking, leadership, teamwork, government, and more.

provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing tools to engage in events, legislative policies, and issues affecting their lives. Collaborates with them to form The New Jersey Statewide Self-Advocacy Network (NJSSAN), fostering positive change personally and socially. Comprising five geographic-based Councils, NJSSAN conducts trainings and leadership seminars, supports over 150 self-advocacy groups, facilitates fundraising and public outreach, presents to community groups and schools, and educates state legislators on disability-related concerns.

The United Advocacy Group model is designed to partner alongside front-line organizations and strengthen their capacity to serve youth and families within their midst. Works with foster youth that are aging out 16-24. Domestic violence survivors and their families.

New Jersey Partners in Policymaking is an 8-month leadership development and advocacy education program for adults with developmental disabilities, ages 18 and over. The goal of this program is to prepare the next generation of disability advocates to work toward meaningful statewide change.

Provides a consumer organized and operated support group that focuses on issues that affect people with disabilities. A staff member works as a liaison with the group in activities that include community volunteerism, voter registration, social functions and issue oriented conferences.
