Cases range from autistic and wandering children to family abductions, runaways, and disaster-related incidents. NCMEC accepts reports and sightings for all types of cases and offers free information to families and organizations to enhance child safety awareness and preparedness.

Arranges life-saving operations for critically ill children. Funding and assistance is available to critically ill children all over the world.

Enables police to quickly help accident victims. A Gold Star emblem placed on the left inside back window of the car alerts police that family contact information and the driver's medical history is in the glove compartment. If the driver is in an accident, police can quickly contact family.

Operates a registry service for individualss who wish to contact or reunite with their next of kin. The registry serves the needs of all persons who have been separated from their families due to divorce, adoption, foster care, war, etc.

Provides an online registry that allows individuals to confirm their safety to their loved ones after any major disaster. Users can register their identity on the website, which allows their loved ones to find them. In addition, concerned loved ones can search the registry for disaster victims.

Provides a bracelet, fitted with a transmitter, utilizing radio technology to aid in locating missing persons. Eligible county residents with a history of wandering due to illness or disability, like Autism or Alzheimer's disease, can receive the bracelet free of charge. A caregiver living with the participant must check the bracelet's battery signal daily. In case of a missing family member, the Sheriffs Office employs a specialized tracking device to pinpoint their location. However, Project Lifesaver does not substitute constant supervision and monitoring or other safety measures like alarms.

Facilitates successful reunions between family members who have lost contact, utilizing various methods like government offices, credit institutions, social service agencies, and law enforcement. Notably, this program does not conduct searches for minors, adoption cases, or individuals not directly related to the inquirer. Inquiries regarding legal matters like estate settlement, divorce, or debt collection are not considered.

Providing a support network, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) assists victims of child abduction and sexual exploitation, along with their families. Services encompass immediate crisis intervention, survivor support, emotional assistance for runaways and families, peer support, referrals to agencies and mental health professionals, reunification aid, support for siblings, assistance in locating organizations for sexually exploited youth, and backing for law enforcement when local services fall short.

Provides a safety awareness and promotion program designed for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementia who have a greater personal safety risk due to their impairment in memory and cognition. Provides individuals and families with educational information and resources about home and personal safety, and provides professional education and training about Alzheimer's and dementia to New Jersey law enforcement and emergency first-responders.

Provides emergency rescue for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer's, autism, and other related conditions or disorders using radio technology and specially trained search and rescue teams.

Serves as an emergency notification program for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's, other forms of dementia, or autistic and mentally challenged children. Caregivers may register their loved one with the police to help locate them if they wander off. Police will take a photo and gather information about the family member.

Provides programs and services to adult seniors and adults with disabilities in effort to help them live independently. Services provided include but are not limited to: assisted transportation, health and fitness programs, in-home care services, adult daycare, legal services, meal delivery, pharmaceutical prescription services, and personal assistance service program.
