Under the New Jersey state housing codes, from October 1 - May 1 yearly, the landlord must provide enough heat so that the temperature in the apartment is at least 65 degrees from 6:00pm - 11:00pm and 68 degrees at all other times.
Enforces social and safety requirements for all rooming and boarding houses and free-standing residential health care facilities in New Jersey. The Bureau conducts inspections, issues licenses, and publicly posts inspection reports of all governed facilities on their website. If a consumer has a complaint about any of these facilities, that has not been adequately addressed at a more local level, they can issue their complaint to the Bureau.
