Assistance that is available through this program includes:- Assistance for senior with their bills- PAAD/Lifeline applications- Information and referral- GED assistance- Computer literacy programsThe program also sponsors meetings and forums each year to address community problems or concerns.

Advocates on behalf of adults with mental illness by offering support, education, and connections to community-based mental health and social services. Key services include mentoring and companionship for socialization, role modeling, and community support; direct advocacy for linking adults with existing mental health, entitlements, housing, medical, legal, physical, self-help, wellness, educational, and recreational services; group services for boarding homes and community-based locations, providing support, education, recreation, socialization, and advocacy; multicultural outreach to underserved populations; and advocacy, support, and training for consumers of mental health services serving as advocates on community-based mental health and community boards, committees, and task forces.

Operates several supportive programs for senior citizens, and their families, who live in Atlantic County. Services include:- Caregiver Support Group: Meets on a regular basis, formed to help relieve caregiver stress and to provide peer support, education and information to caregivers, both elderly and non elderly, of older persons.- Fix-It Program: Available to any senior citizen 60 or older, whose safety is at risk due to the need of handrails and minor home repairs, enabling them to remain living at home.- Information and Assistance (Call Center): Provides information on such programs as PAAD, Senior Gold, Adult Day Care, Transportation, Home-Delivered Meals, Juvenile and Family Services, Dental Care and Caregiver Support Groups.- Legal Services: Renders free legal assistance to low-income elderly and disabled residents. Cape-Atlantic will not represent a client if he/she is a defendant in a criminal matter nor will it provide assistance if a person is requesting to sue someone for monetary gain. It will, however, assist people with landlord/tenant issues, wills and living wills, food stamp appeals, domestic matters and consumer fraud matters.- Medical Day Care: Program offers assistance to any senior or disabled citizen who requires care and supervision in a protective setting for a portion of the day, with emphasis on the physically or cognitively impaired older adults.- Recreation and Social Activities: develops and coordinates special trips for senior citizens. While some functions do require participants to pay a nominal fee for special events, senior groups may call to learn of planned activities or suggest special activities.- State Health Insurance Program (SHIP): provides counseling and assistance to seniors and disabled persons on Medicare regulations and explanations on supplemental or Medigap insurance policies. The counselor is available on a part-time basis and will make home visits and presentations to groups, if requested.- Social Day Care: program offers assistance to any senior or disabled citizen who requires care and supervision in a protective setting for a portion of the day, with emphasis on the social and recreational activities in a group setting.- Social Security Administration On-Line Benefit Information: Includes benefit verification letter, payment history and earnings record. Also - provides ability to change address and update direct deposit information and information about other online services, such as applications for retirement, disability and Medicare.

Provides telephone, online private one-to-one chat, and email peer-support for youth who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning. The program also offers users information and resources for LGBT-friendly services/institutions across the United States.

Establishing a Phone Follow-Up Program, the Perinatal Mood Disorder (PMD) Initiative connects at-risk women to local and state PMD resources, including counselors/therapists, mental health providers, support groups, the NJ Speak Up When You're Down Program, and various community resources. While not offering clinical services or direct mental health counseling, the initiative supports hospitals and healthcare providers in delivering Postpartum Depression (PPD) and other Perinatal Mood Disorder (PMD) education to women and their families.

Offers a helpline that provides New Jersey residents who care for someone with dementia information about the disease and guidance on day to day care. Callers receive ongoing support and guidance as the needs of their family change throughout the transition. Also provides information about support groups.

Offers comprehensive information on resources for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities, covering food, housing, material goods, transportation, and utilities. Includes services such as: - Notary Program: Notarizes simple documents for Salem County residents aged at least 60 or those under 60 with disabilities, with a photo ID requirement. Excludes Power of Attorney, Wills, and similar legal documents. - Residential Maintenance: Provides site repair, snow removal, attic and basement cleaning, and handyman services for seniors. - Health and Wellness Programs: Encompass Project Healthy Bones, Matter of Balance, Chronic Disease Self-Management, and Health Ease. - In-Home Services: Offers personal care and housekeeping, with home health aides assisting with daily activities. Non-professional staff provides light or heavy house cleaning, including laundry, dusting, mending, and floor washing.
