Focuses on the dangers and problems associated with prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse. Model curriculum was designed to educate students, parents and professionals to raise awareness about this growing trend.

Provides quality, evidence-based counseling and community-based services. General, mental health, behavioral health counseling, anger management programs for adolescents and adults, grief and loss counseling, individual, family, couples counseling, parenting support and skill development, substance abuse counseling and prevention.

Educates on responding to opiate overdoses and supplies Naloxone kits, available intranasally or via injection, to training participants. Primarily offers intranasal Naloxone due to safety and ease but provides injectable form if needed. Completion of training is required to receive a kit, including two doses of Naloxone, nasal atomizers or syringes, and mouth shields.

Program is a direct service information and referral agency. Substance abuse prevention programs, counseling groups, advocacy work, youth center, social/recreational activities, and community service opportunities provided. There is a drop-in center for after school activities.

Delivers programs that address how addiction impacts the entire family, including alcohol/drug assessments, individual and family therapy, co-dependency programs, adolescent and young children groups. Aftercare services are available for adults and adolescents and their families after completing rehabilitation programs.

Provides various evidence-based school substance use prevention programs for students in grades pre-k through high school.

Provides community-oriented alcohol and other drug prevention services for children, adults and families. Services are offered primarily within the Latino community and are culturally sensitive. Including alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention groups, violence prevention, educational presentations/workshops, substance abuse prevention services.

Offers an evidence based curriculum designed to decrease aggression. Aids to lessen bullying and substance abuse and to increase students' social skills and school success.

Provides a variety of prevention services for high-risk adults, youth, and families, including alcohol abuse education (Somerset County only), support for children of substance abusers aged 5 through 12, and an Early Education Group for individuals in the early stages of substance abuse. Educates and trains individuals and professionals on substance use and addiction throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Provides various prevention and risk-reduction services and offers a 6-week smoking cessation curriculum, tailored to women of childbearing age. Also provides free trainings for professionals and individuals.

Implements a research-based primary prevention program for second and third graders, utilizing puppets and real-life scenarios to teach life skills. Focus areas include planning, interpersonal skills, cultural competence, peer pressure, and conflict resolution.

Engages audiences with a performance from an improvisational theatre group exploring adolescent issues creatively, serving as a forum for discussion. The theatrical approach fosters open communication and acts as a teaching tool. Reflections ensemble is available for Family Guidance programs, staff training, assembly programs, and more. This program also enhances acting and theatre performance skills.

Plans prevention and early intervention services in the State. DMHAS staff monitor contracts, provide on-going technical assistance to contracted provider agencies, and oversee outcome evaluations for all prevention and early intervention programs. Now offers an online prevention hub that guides consumers to the center in their county.

Offers educational resources for schools systems, businesses, faith communities and the children and families for substance abuse and violence prevention. The programs aim to help families and children tackle important issues through engaging and interactive sessions that use age-appropriate language.

Adult & Young Adult Center for Health provides health care and counseling for adolescents and their families. Medical services offered at the center includes sexually transmitted diseases treatment, eating disorders, family planning, counseling, psychiatric evaluations. Counseling services include family and school problems, substance abuse prevention, or early intervention services. Some services are confidential.

Provides structured and supervised intensive outpatient and outpatient substance abuse programs, tailoring the treatment level as needed. Services encompass individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational support, life skills training, primary and perinatal health care, family support programs, relapse prevention, continuing care, and supportive services like child care, transportation, and parenting skills development, along with substance abuse education and adult drug screenings.

Offers programs and services aimed at reducing the incidence and prevalence of substance abuse disorders through primary prevention efforts. Also provides referrals to community resources for additional assistance.

Provide evidence-based prevention education in schools and community settings across New Jersey, including substance use, mental health awareness, sexual health, and life skills training, serving youth, adults, families, and veterans through Empower Somerset.

Engages community partners in service area to establish and sustain the environmental changes necessary to eliminate substance abuse.

Provides essential support services to students to help them gain social and academic skills to assist them through tough times. Uses individual and group counseling, class presentations on important issues facing teens today, and after school groups and life skills programs.

Provides a complete source for education, information and referral, as well as intervention with substance abuse and violence issues. The program provides education and prevention to schools, families, etc. The agency presents the program to all schools in Hunterdon County from grades K to high school. Substance abuse evaluations and counseling are provided for probation and anyone in need of the services.

Provides adolescents diagnosed with mental health conditions by providing the supportive services necessary to complete their education, acquire skills for employment or further education, and lead mentally and physically healthy lives. The Center delivers core services, including mental health and substance abuse services, employment counseling, primary and preventive health services, pregnancy prevention services, learning support services, case management services, and recreation services encompassing games, sports, and computers.

Provide wrap-around resources and supports to families, strengthening them and their communities. Staff serve as advocates, connecting families to various resources. Services include access to health services, parent education, employment services, life skills development, housing services, advocacy, and community resource referrals. Participate in a 10-week parenting class to explore new ideas, share experiences, and engage in supportive group activities. This is one of our most popular programs.

Offers help for New Jersey residents towards accessing drug and alcohol treatment programs. The program provides information and referral to help clients find available resources and treatment options in their local area.
