The Family Crisis Intervention Unit (FCIU) responds to situations that involve a serious threat to well-being and physical safety of a juvenile, a serious conflict manifested by disregard for parental authority, or misuse of parental authority. It also intervenes when there is an unauthorized absence by a juvenile for more than 24 hours and/or a pattern of repeated unauthorized absences from school by a juvenile. The unit is able to respond on a 24-hour basis.
