Activities include arts & crafts activities, adapted games, and monthly trips to places such as the Bronx Zoo, local bowling alleys, movie theaters, SportsWorld, Liberty Science Center, Van Saun Zoological Park, and Minor League Baseball Games. Provides one-on-one supervision for each child by a volunteer counselor.

Training typically spans 18 hours, conducted in 2-4 hour modules over weeks or months, covering areas such as basic First Aid, Family Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Fire Suppression, Medical Operations, CERT operations, Disaster Mental Health, Basic emergency Management, and Disaster Simulation-Skills review.

Recruits volunteers for the Sexual Abuse and Assault Program at Saint Francis Counseling Service to work on the 24-hour hotline and provide support to rape survivors at area hospitals. Individuals with relevant work or life experience, particularly bilingual (Spanish), are encouraged to apply. Training workshops, leading to certification as Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates (CSVA), are held periodically. Volunteers commit to three flexible 12-hour shifts per month upon completion of the training.
