Provides students in grades 1-12 participate in one-on-one and group training sessions to learn how to become effective leaders in their communities and to enhance their prospects of going to and graduating from college. In addition to training sessions, students earn volunteer hours through various community service activities, take field trips, and gain hands-on knowledge of fiscal responsibility by planning and executing fund raising projects.

Provides a variety of supportive programs to students of Perth Amboy High School and their families through the School Based Youth Services Program (SBYSP). Offers case management, assistance with college applications, community referrals for social services, immigration services, employment counseling, and recreational activities. Delivers intensive mental health counseling, including individual, group, and family sessions covering topics such as school, drugs/alcohol, abuse, family conflicts, peer pressure, relationships, eating disorders, and violence prevention. Collaborates with community health providers to teach pregnancy prevention and sexual education in ninth-grade health classes, and offers one-on-one sessions on risk reduction and healthy decisions.

Provides local youth the opportunity to better the community by directly working within the community, learning about the community health needs and specific health threats to Perth Amboy, retreats that build leadership skills, monthly meetings, emerging leaders also provides participants with summer employment, and monthly meeting stipends.

Recruits youth, ages 11 through 18, for volunteering in supervised community service projects. Members come together from throughout the county to volunteer community service projects. Summer intensive programs place volunteers at non-profit organizations over two 4-week sessions. Weekend projects take place throughout the year. Transportation is provided to and from volunteer sites.

Employs 50-75 Camden-area teens each year as counselors, tutors, and mentors for the children who attend AfterSchool Programs and Summer Camps. StreetLeaders participate in community service; life skills classes; one-on-one tutoring; SAT/ACT courses; academic enrichment courses; and arts activities. Teens are encouraged to avoid negative influences and focus on their academic and professional future. The programs focus on achievement has led to a 100% graduation rate of StreetLeader seniors; 97% transition into college (90%) or to vocational training (7%).

Provides a variety of structured, curriculum-based child care programs for all ages, emphasizing learning through play and social/emotional development, with daily meal service. Programs cater to infants/toddlers (6 weeks to 2 1/2 years), preschoolers (2 1/2 to 5 1/2 years), before and after kindergarten children (5 1/2 to 6 1/2 years), school-age children (grades 1-8), and a summer camp (ages 6 to 12) including breakfast, lunch, and snack. Additionally, offers a Counselor in Training Program for volunteers aged 14 to 18 to gain experience with young children.

AmeriCorps is a community-based program that recruits, trains and places members in intensive service learning opportunities at non-profits and schools throughout Middlesex County. Learning opportunities include help with disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environment stewardship, healthy futures, veterans and military families. Members can earn up to $5,550 educational stipend and a living allowance in return for thier commitment and service.
