Provides students in grades 1-12 participate in one-on-one and group training sessions to learn how to become effective leaders in their communities and to enhance their prospects of going to and graduating from college. Employs 50-75 Camden-area teens each year as counselors, tutors, and mentors for the children who attend AfterSchool Programs and Summer Camps. StreetLeaders participate in community service; life skills classes; one-on-one tutoring; SAT/ACT courses; academic enrichment courses; and arts activities. Teens are encouraged to avoid negative influences and focus on their academic and professional future. The programs focus on achievement has led to a 100% graduation rate of StreetLeader seniors; 97% transition into college (90%) or to vocational training (7%).
