The New Jersey Department of Health is providing vaccination scheduling support for seniors ages 65 and older. The hotline can be used to register, schedule and reschedule appointments as needed
Provides information about COVID-19 vaccination in New Jersey and access to the pre-registration portal. The state has begun implementation of a phased roll-out. The first phases have included: healthcare workers (excludes veterinarians) police and firefighters all New Jerseyans age 65 years and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, as are all New Jerseyans age 16 - 64 who have medical conditions that increase the risk of severe illness from COVID-19 (as defined by the CDC)Others can pre-register for receipt of the vaccine when they are eligible based on the roll-out schedule. BEGINNING APRIL 19, 2021,Regarding second-doses, individuals should schedule an appointment for a second-dose at the same location that they received their first dose, either at the time they receive their first dose, or by calling that location to request an appointment for a second dose. Individuals who received a first dose vaccination by making an appointment through the state's scheduling system will receive an automatically scheduled second dose appointment email.Vaccination sites that are using the State Registration System will notify regarding second dose appointments by email those individuals who received a first dose, including the Gloucester County Megasite, which began administering first doses prior to availability of the State Registration System.As of March 15, the following categories are eligible for vaccination: Educators, including support staff, in pre-K through 12th grade settings; Childcare workers in licensed and registered settings; Public and local transportation workers, including bus, taxi, rideshare, and airport employees; NJ TRANSIT workers; and Motor Vehicle Commission staff; Public safety workers who are not sworn law enforcement or fire professionals, including probation officers and fire safety inspectors; Migrant farm workers; Members of tribal communities; Individuals experiencing homelessness and those living in shelters, including domestic violence shelters.Additionally, as of March 29, frontline essential workers in the following categories are also eligible for vaccination: Food production, agriculture, and food distribution; Eldercare and support; Warehousing and logistics; Social services support staff; Elections personnel; Hospitality; Medical supply chain; Postal and shipping services; Clergy; Judicial systemFinally, as of May 13, all New Jerseyans age 12 and older will be eligible for vaccination.
