Offers NJ residents legal assistance for any purchased car (new or used) or motorized vehicle that is defective and potentially unsafe. The unit helps the consumer determines whether a case meets the legal requirements for hearing.

Assists military personnel who have been deployed overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan with their legal needs at no cost. The program offers assistance in four areas: Family Law, Employment Law, Debtor-Creditor Law and Military/Administrative Law. Refers members of the military to volunteers qualified to assist them with their specific legal issues.

Advocates for low-income clients, the Civil Justice Clinic addresses various civil cases, focusing on housing, family, consumer law, probate, bankruptcy, unemployment compensation, social security, SSI disability benefits, and other public benefits. Under faculty supervision, students actively engage in cases such as defending eviction actions, assisting tenants with repairs, litigating to recover security deposits, opposing illegal rent increases, and handling cases related to real estate, home repair, car repair, or purchase scams, divorce, custody, alimony, domestic violence, child support, and social security disability. Students undertake the entire legal process, including client interviews, negotiations, drafting legal documents, and conducting depositions and trials. Additionally, the clinic periodically undertakes broader law reform and impact advocacy initiatives on systemic issues within civil poverty law.

Examines reports and suspicions of tax law non-compliance, covering issues such as false deductions, kickbacks, or unreported income. Also addresses concerns regarding failure to pay tax, fraudulent activity by tax preparers, or identity theft involving Social Security Numbers for employment or tax filings. This reporting system ensures accountability and enforcement of tax laws.
