Under faculty supervision, students handle cases ranging from relief from removal and asylum to protection for victims of human trafficking, battered immigrants, certain crimes, and abused, abandoned, or neglected immigrant children. Working in teams, students take charge of all aspects, including interviewing, counseling, witness preparation, fact investigation, legal research, drafting documents, and oral advocacy. Many students represent clients at immigration hearings at the end of the semester.

Additionally, the clinic periodically undertakes broader law reform and impact advocacy initiatives on systemic issues within civil poverty law.
