Deaf and Hard of Hearing Sensitivity Training | NJ Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Conducts on-site sensitivity training covering diverse topics, including ensuring equal communication access for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. The objective is to educate organizations on providing equal access to services for this community. These trainings, benefiting businesses, social services agencies, government entities, educational institutions, and hospitals, include information on common challenges, the impact and range of hearing loss, relevant laws, effective communication strategies, and how and when to request communication access services such as interpreters, CART, and other specialized accommodations. Presentations also feature information on Division programs like Communication Access Services, Information and Referral, Deaf Language Advocacy, Equipment Distribution Program, and the Hearing Aid Project.TRAINING REQUEST FORM
