Assisting homeless veterans, the VA NJ Health Care System provides diverse services:- Rehabilitative Treatment: Offering a 3-4 month, 85-bed residential program, it delivers intensive rehabilitation with medical, psychiatric, vocational, and recreational services. The team employs a modified therapeutic community structure, emphasizing the 12-step model.- Employment Training: Through Veterans' Industries, homeless veterans engage in paid on-the-job training in various fields such as construction, golf operations, and horticulture.- Transitional Housing: Collaborating with community-based agencies, the VA supplies over 100 units of transitional housing for up to two years, aiding veterans in preparing for independent living.
