The crime must occur in New Jersey, although one does not need to be a New Jersey resident; or one must be a New Jersey resident who became a victim in another state or jurisdiction that does not have a crime victim compensation program or has a program which has not provided full compensation for crime-related losses.The victim must have reported the crime to police within 9 months.The victim must cooperate with the investigation and prosecution of the crime.The claim must be filed within 3 years of the date of the crime. (Consideration will be takenif good cause exists for delayed filing.)Must be an innocent victim of crime.Covered crimes include but are not limited to, aggravated assault, homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping and all domestic violence incidents.
