Emergency Assistance | Affordable Housing Alliance of NJ (AHA)
Assists low-income families in Monmouth County to maintain permanent housing by offering financial aid of up to $2000 for rental assistance, security deposits, and current month's rent; mortgage assistance (excluding homes in foreclosure) covering current month's balance due and outstanding property taxes; and utility support encompassing security deposits, past due balances, shut-off notices, and reconnection of services for gas, electric, water, oil, propane, sewer, and tax bills, allowing clients to combine aid based on their requirements, with families eligible for assistance once every 12 months.

Application process
Call and leave contact details with the receptionist. A representative will call back directing the applicant to the appropriate location to apply.
Eligibility
**Families may only receive one benefit per 12 months through this program.**Applicants must meet all of the following requirements: - Be a resident of Monmouth County - Household gross income within 125% of the poverty guidelines - Must enroll in a monthly financial literacy program offered by the agency - Have documented emergent need - Have proof that the assistance will help the family maintain housing or utility service for at least 6 months
