Application process

Applicants can download an application and must submit all preliminary applications to the Mercer County Housing Office. Homebuyer education certificate is required.Call or visit the website for further information, changes to the schedule, and locations for each informational session.

Eligibility

Prospective homebuyers must meet the following requirements to be eligible for assistance. Have not owned a home in the last three (3) years, be a qualified low-income household, property must be purchased within Mercer County (excludes the City of Trenton, which receives independent HOME funds), be the owner of the property after purchase, occupy the property as their principal residence after the purchase, attend certified housing counseling certificate course, must be a United States citizen or legal resident, single parent and displaced homemakers may be eligible for the program, despite not meeting all criteria listed above.
