Description

Supporting individuals with psychiatric disabilities in achieving their post-secondary academic goals, Bridgeway's LEARN of Central NJ offers a flexible, individualized mobile outreach service. Focused on student choice, self-determination, and career objectives, the program helps develop colleges' capacity to support those with psychiatric disabilities as college students. Direct services encompass supportive counseling, accommodation education, referrals to academic and social supports, and skill development. Bridgeway's initiative extends to Self-Help Centers, aiding their efforts in assisting people to return to school, providing ongoing technical assistance for optimal program development and support. The overarching goals include facilitating postsecondary education completion, enhancing mental health and peer-run services' capacity to support educational pursuits, and fortifying colleges and universities to aid students with psychiatric disabilities in their programs.
