Supportive Assistance for Individuals and Familes (SAIF) | Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark - Workforce Development
Promoting economic self-sufficiency, the SAIF Program aims to reduce welfare dependency for individuals receiving benefits for over 48 months, impacting 750 people annually. Offering services to those facing barriers to self-sufficiency, the program employs a holistic approach addressing homelessness, recovery, and mental health. It features an Intensive Case Management and outreach component, with referrals from the Essex County Division of Training and Employment. Services include comprehensive assessments, literacy testing, case management, Individual Service Plans, social service coordination, career counseling, and advocacy.

Eligibility
Must:- Received TANF for 60 months or more- Participated in work activity- Met child support obligations- Have don a job search and are actively looking for employment- Currently unemployed or underemplyed- Temporarily deferred from a work activity due to a short term illness (less than 12 months)- Lost your job through no fault of your own- Meet TANF income, resources and all eligibility requirements
