Adult Protective Services | Family and Children's Service (FCS)

Investigates reports of suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable adults living in the community. Anyone may make a confidential report. When a report is received, APS investigates. If the report is confirmed and the person is willing to accept help, APS will identify and put in place services that can help the vulnerable person.

Provides 14 programs and services that assist vulnerable people and help to strengthen, protect and preserve the dignity and independence of those in need. Serves and addresses homelessness; neglect, abuse and exploitation; health and respite care; financial instability due to physical, developmental or mental disabilities; childhood literacy and obesity; Medicare counseling; and long-term care assistance.
