Peer Respite - Passaic County | Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey (CSPNJ)

Provides free, intensive, short-term support as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization for individuals in a mental health crisis. Staffed 24/7, the house transforms crises into opportunities for enhancing personal wellness. Staff inspire hope and assist guests in developing crisis self-management skills for handling current and future situations. Focusing on self-care, the service addresses sleep, rest, relaxation, nutrition, physical activity, and co-occurring medical or substance use issues. Guests can stay for a maximum of 10 days, or, if there's a waiting list or a preference to stay at home, the service offers continued contact and outreach for up to one month.

Call for information and to complete intake over the phone. Transportation may be provided.

Eligibility

1. 18 years of age or older 2. Experiencing a crisis or emotional distress3. Identifying as living with a mental health or substance use disorder4. Must be a New Jersey Resident
