Open to anyone in the service area

Required documents

ID, SSN, and proof of income for all members in the household. Utility bills (gas, electric, oil, water and telephone), rent receipt/agreement, mortgage statement and/or tax bill, medical expenses (if 60 or older and/or disabled) and children's daycare expenses.

Description

Assists with applying and/or recertifying for SNAP (formerly food stamps) benefits. The bilingual Resource Access team visits food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, churches and other community sites serving low-income families to offer free pre-screening for SNAP eligibility.

Packages food orders for local soup kitchens and food pantries. Distributes food, provides education and training, and develops new programs to help people with low incomes meet their basic needs.
