Immigration Rights Clinic | Rutgers University School of Law
Provide Rutgers School of Law students in the Immigration Rights Clinic to serve the local and national immigrant population through individual client representation and broader advocacy. Under faculty supervision, students handle cases ranging from relief from removal and asylum to protection for victims of human trafficking, battered immigrants, certain crimes, and abused, abandoned, or neglected immigrant children. Working in teams, students take charge of all aspects, including interviewing, counseling, witness preparation, fact investigation, legal research, drafting documents, and oral advocacy. Many students represent clients at immigration hearings at the end of the semester.

Application process
Individuals who would like the Immigration Clinic to consider their case should call and explain their situation and what has been done so far, and will also need to give their financial information. A representative from the clinic should call back within 10 business days. Applicants should be aware that the Immigration Clinic can only serve a small portion of cases that are submitted to them.
Eligibility
Cases are only considered for clients whose income falls within 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
